De-icing Salt - Sodium Chloride

Sodium Chloride is natural salt. This takes the form of Rock Salt Grit (Brown Salt), White Rock Salt and White Marine Salt.

Rock Salt Grit is the brown salt used by the roads service, it provides additional traction underfoot with the inherent grit.

White Rock Salt is preferred by some as it has less residue and is not as messy

White Marine Salt is finer and has a higher moisture content meaning it is faster acting and does not rely on being crushed under wheel or foot. It is not suitable for use in spreaders.
